Fong Qi Wei

Fong Qi Wei is a photographer in his early thirties, he lives and works in Singapore. As he was growing up, he taught himself to do photography, he would read books and use the internet.

Photo 1:

The photos main image is a pink flower, which all of its components have been laid out so each petal can be seen. This is the only object in the photo. I think the photo has been staged because it has been played out on to a plain white background. This could mean that it has been Photoshopped to make the vibrant colours in the petals stand out, meaning it has become more eye-catching.

I think an soft, artificial lighting has been used because there is a soft shadow along some edges of the petals. The photo has been taken from a from a front view angle, which means the whole of the image can be seen.

Fong Qi Wei Photos

In this photoshoot, my intentions were to take photos in the style of Fong Qi Wei. I believe that they went well because you can clearly see each petal and each colour in the photos. However, along the outsides of some photos it has become a little bit darker. So next time, I will have the light come from above the photo more.

My Inspired Shoot

My intentions for the photoshoot, were to take a series of photos inspired by Fong Qi Wei. I think it went well because my photos have elements of Fong Qi Wei's photos, along with some of my ideas. Most of the photos are quite dark so next time I could make sure the photos are brighter so the photo can be seen more clearly.

I chose to edit these photos because they have interesting shapes and patterns. I edited these photos by making them brighter, which has made the colours look mire vibrant.
